Happy Birthday Richmond Hill David Dunlap Observatory!

Celebrating 90 years of discovery and exploration, the RHDDO has inspired generations with its breathtaking views of the cosmos. As a national attraction and treasured educational facility, the RHDDO has brought the wonders of the universe closer to countless visitors, sparking imaginations and igniting a passion for astronomy.

During this celebration event, we will be opening our archive and exploring discoveries made at the Richmond Hill David Dunlap Observatory, notable astronomers and celestial milestones! We’ll be closing out the night by observing some of the very same objects that RHDDO astronomers have observed on countless nights. 

This event will include a tour of the observatory to see a demonstration of the 74” telescope pointed to an interesting celestial object for visitors to view (Weather Dependent).
